June 2010 Ride Report: Introduction (NSFW).
Background. I had not been bicycling for a least 15 years and decided to get back into it again. I needed a goal to help me stick with it. In late March I searched Google for cycling events in the Bay Area and discovered WNBR and through the WNBR wiki site, I found the San Francisco WNBR ride. This looked like a lot of fun as it combined my current passion of nudism with my former passion of bicycling along with political activism, having done street protests in SF and Berkeley over various social issues.
Technical note: To view the full-size 10 mega-pixel images an Adobe Flash player plug-in is needed. However, those without Flash, will see a 800 x 600 image which is still pretty decent. The 10 mega-pixel images are broken up into hundreds of smaller tiles (by a licensed Zoomify tile generator) which the Flash Zoomify client pieces back together in the identical fashion that online map clients (like Google Maps) do it. This allows you to see the image in all its glory without the overhead of having to download the entire multi-megabyte image all at once (which would take a very long time).
